What is Align? Align is an arts & culture publication with an emphasis on lifestyle and fashion at the University of Oregon.
What was my role on Align? My role as designer was creating spreads each term while working with two different pitch teams; one involved a photoshoot team and the other was based around illustration. As designer, I created spreads by collaborating with the art director to make their vision come to life. Align was an outlet for creative freedom, especially when experimenting with different typography, colors and layouts, it was a great way to build new skills.
What I learned from being apart of Align: Even though Align publishes a variety of topics within each issue, I learned there’s still an underlying point of cohesion the editors aim to keep. I came to understand this better as my skill sets progressed. I enjoyed working with different teams each issue, it expanded but also challenged new elements I used to design.
